Captain Terrence Manley
Join host Chris Baker and guest Captain/Paramedic Terrence Manley, Mentor Program Coordinator for the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, on Tuesday, May 17th at 4:30 PM (PST) / 7:30 PM (EST) as they discuss the effectiveness of the Metro Fire Mentor Program and the team of mentors that have assisted over 400 candidates through the hiring process since 2014. During this episode, they also discuss the value of implementing a mentoring program and how mentorship can improve your agency and the fire service one member at a time.
Captain Manley has also served on interview panels for the rank of Fire Reserve, Single role Paramedic, Single Role EMT, Firefighter/EMT, and Firefighter/Paramedic for Metro Fire as well as for other agencies in surrounding areas. In 2014, Captain Manley's passion for helping others inspired him to start a Mentor Program within Metro Fire, with a mission to inspire and motivate those persons interested in careers within the fire service.
Before joining the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, Terrence worked as an Ambulance Operator with the Glendale Fire Department, and as an Auxiliary Firefighter with the Sierra Madre Fire Department in Los Angeles County. He was fortunate enough to have a family friend who worked with the Los Angeles City Fire Department mentor him throughout his career journey into the fire service.
